Municipal Engineer

About the role

The Municipal Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements plans for water supply, wastewater treatment, and drainage systems.
• Collaborates with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Manages project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
• Conducts site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise during construction.
• Prepares reports and presentations for stakeholders, including city officials and community members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in municipal engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6.
• Knowledge of hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS).
• Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices.
