About the role
The Municipal Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements plans for water supply, wastewater treatment, and drainage systems.
- Collaborates with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manages project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.
- Conducts site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise during construction.
- Prepares reports and presentations for stakeholders, including city officials and community members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in municipal engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6.
- Knowledge of hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS).
- Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices.
