Municipal Civil Front Desk Customer Service
Location: 1000 Main Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202
Full-time, non-exempt position (35 hours/week) at the Hamilton County Courthouse. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. No travel required.
About the role
The Municipal Civil division processes filings and entries related to lawsuits with damages of $15,000 or less. This position provides services from prejudgment to post-judgment court filings. The Case Management Team is responsible for the origination of new cases, mailing new cases and garnishments daily, Certificates of Judgments, processing failed certified mail returns, transfer of cases, processing electronic filings, and specific assignment commissioner tasks.

Responsibilities
- Customer Service (50%)
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers at the counter and over the telephone.
- Process paperwork based on standard procedures.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Accept and process rent escrow payments.
- Clerical Services (50%)
- Process payments for garnishments.
- Initiate trusteeships.
- Review court entries for payment processing.
- Write checks for outgoing monies for garnishments, release of rent escrow payments, refunds to attorneys, etc.
- Complete daily balancing for the division and review any anomalies or out-of-balance conditions with colleagues.
- Process payments received by mail.
- Process return mail to customers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of professional experience in an office environment, banking, or governmental position; or three (3) years of customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Skills
Knowledge of:
- Municipal Civil court operations, laws, processes, and proceedings, or the ability to acquire this knowledge quickly.
- Basic mathematics for money collection and drawer balancing.

Pay
$24.80 per hour.
