About the role
As a Multi-Site Leasing Consultant at Equity Residential, you’ll promote our brand across a defined set of communities to achieve maximum occupancy and revenue while delivering a remarkable customer experience. The role is structured as 60% new sales and tour management, 30% resident relations and customer service, and 10% leasing administration. You’ll report to the Community Manager or Area Sales Manager.
Responsibilities
- Promote Equity Residential’s brand and communities based on prospective residents’ needs.
- Coordinate in-person onsite presence at assigned properties under the direction of the Community, General, or Area Sales Manager, adjusting schedules based on business needs and occupancy/revenue goals.
- Proactively manage leads and customer experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, completing tasks within required time frames.
- Manage tour schedules, inspect community readiness and tour paths daily, and employ effective selling techniques to close sales.
- Cross-sell within assigned communities and sister communities to meet prospective residents’ needs.
- Maintain accurate and in-depth knowledge of all community aspects and support marketing efforts.
- Monitor community trends to prepare for future occupancy needs.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Leasing Consultants.
- Assist residents with payment and account ledger inquiries, and communicate effectively with service/office teams and residents.
- Maintain market and community knowledge.
- Coordinate and support resident events, which may occur during evenings and weekends.
- Prepare and assist with leasing documents, postings, and resident notifications.
- Verify all scheduled move-in files are complete.
- Complete all required training in a timely manner.
- Comply with federal, state, and local fair housing laws, landlord/tenant laws, and regulations.
- Represent the Company professionally at all times.
Requirements
- Sales and customer service experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, auto insurance, and reliable transportation if operating a motorized vehicle (e.g., car, golf cart) during work.
- Computer literacy and effective oral/written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
- Use of a personal smartphone with updated, password-protected software compliant with in-house security systems.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 15 pounds for document/supply dissemination; may require climbing stairs depending on property structure.

Pay
Salary: $23.28 - $28.45 per hour. Employees are eligible for overtime pay and performance incentives. Starting pay is determined based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
