Multimodality Tech Weekend

About the role

The Multimodality Technologist – CT/X-Ray performs high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in two or more imaging disciplines, with at least 25% of work focused in an advanced modality such as Computed Tomography (CT). Under the general supervision of a Radiologist, the Multimodality Technologist provides imaging services to hospital and ambulatory patients as ordered by physicians and other licensed providers for the diagnosis of disease and injury. This full-time weekend night shift position works three 12-hour shifts, Friday through Sunday from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM and is eligible for a Two-Day Alternative (TDA) differential.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT and diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures according to established protocols, quality standards and department expectations.
• Prepare and position patients appropriately for CT and radiographic procedures, utilizing proper equipment settings, exposure factors and immobilization techniques.
• Demonstrate knowledge of radiation safety, dose monitoring and dose reference levels, including appropriate actions when established levels are exceeded.
• Properly utilize iSTAT point-of-care testing for creatinine levels when required for imaging procedures.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families, explaining procedures and assessing each patient's ability to tolerate the examination.
• Follow established safety, infection prevention, medication and radiation protection policies and procedures.
• Utilize appropriate sterile technique and hand hygiene when assisting with or performing invasive imaging procedures.
