About the Role

As a Multi-modality Technologist, you will perform x-ray and CT exams in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures. You will demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, and specialized techniques while adhering to all Corporate Radiation Right policies.

You will consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric age groups, following established scanning and viewing protocols. You will operate CT scanners and related equipment efficiently, completing quality scans in a timely manner while organizing and prioritizing workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands. You will demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute, and challenging patients, modifying positioning and scanning factors as needed.

You will tailor exams to the age, size, weight, and special needs of patients, complete required documentation, and assist radiologists during invasive procedures. You will also ensure CT and department equipment functions properly.

Responsibilities

• Perform x-ray and CT exams in accordance with ARRT and departmental standards.
• Produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality for patients of all ages.
• Follow established scanning and viewing protocols.
• Operate CT scanners and related equipment efficiently.
• Prioritize workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while maintaining customer service standards.
• Modify positioning and scanning factors for trauma, acute, and challenging patients.
• Tailor exams to patient age, size, weight, and special needs.
• Complete required documentation on forms, logs, workstations, and Meditech.
• Assist radiologists during invasive procedures, ensuring availability of supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning of CT and department equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and produce studies identifying related anatomy.
• Use power injectors competently, verbalizing limits of use.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree (required).
• One year of experience as a Radiology Technologist in an acute care setting.
• One year of experience performing CT procedures (required).
• Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Completion of courses in computed tomography (CT) and cross-sectional anatomy.
• Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
• Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R)).
• Certified in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (CT)).
