About the role

The Multimodality Technologist is a Radiology Technologist trained in at least two of the following disciplines: General Diagnostic Radiology, CT, MRI, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine/PET. This position works 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, and is open 7 days a week with occasional weekend and holiday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex CT procedures.
  • Evaluates radiographs to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
  • Prepares protocols for scanning and ensures patient safety.
  • Prepares patients for scanning, using immobilization devices as needed.
  • Aids providers with CT-guided interventional procedures.
  • Administers contrast media following departmental protocols.
  • Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients.
  • Monitors patient conditions during procedures and reviews images for diagnostic value.
  • Performs retrospective reconstruction on raw data.
  • Assists students, employees, and medical residents with technical assistance and instruction.
  • Adheres to infection control guidelines and sterile techniques.
  • Documents diagnostic, treatment, and patient data accurately.
  • Archives images to data storage devices according to guidelines.
  • Performs daily clerical duties, including using EPIC, PACS, and other computer systems.
  • Greets patients and provides emergency care, including performing CPR if necessary.
  • Manages scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Handles on-call assignments as needed.
  • Identifies and addresses the needs of the patient population served.
  • Performs modality-specific daily and monthly quality assurance checks.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
  • NJ state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R).
  • Registration with the ARRT in one or more of the following modalities: MRI (ARMRIT), CT, X-ray, IR, or Mammography.
  • NJ state license and certification in Nuclear Medicine if the secondary modality is in Nuclear Medicine.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
