Multimedia Journalist (Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth)

About the role

The right candidate will break local stories by cultivating sources and live the 10 On Your Side brand. They will contribute content to the company's website and social media platforms throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate sources and break local stories
• Contribute content to the company's website and social media platforms
• Shoot and edit stories as a solo journalist (a plus)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years MMJ experience
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
• Superior on-air presence
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Able to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Flexibility to work any shift including overnights and weekends
