KSNB Local4 in Hastings, NE, is seeking a Multimedia Journalist/Fill-in Anchor.

About the Role

This position involves generating stories for broadcast and digital news platforms, as well as filling in as an anchor when needed. The role combines reporter, producer, and anchor responsibilities to deliver high-quality journalism for Central Nebraska.

Responsibilities

• Generate original story ideas for both broadcast and digital platforms that reflect the unique spirit of Central Nebraska.
• Fill in as an anchor, including producing and writing responsibilities to ensure a seamless, high-energy newscast.
• Create compelling content for the website and social media channels to drive digital engagement.
• Use industry-standard tools like ENPS and Edius to edit and produce high-quality visuals and scripts under tight deadlines.
• Represent Local4 at public functions and community events to build relationships and uncover stories.
• Collaborate with the award-winning team to push the boundaries of local journalism in a digital-first world.

Requirements

• College degree in Journalism or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience at a news station, with comfort in both field reporting and anchoring.
• Familiarity with ENG equipment and working knowledge of ENPS and Edius (or ability to learn quickly).
• Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver quality work on tight deadlines.
• Authentic connection to the community, demonstrated on-air and online.
• Strong visual and writing skills to create engaging stories for various formats (e.g., 90-second packages, social media reels).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
