Based in Salem, Oregon, this role focuses on statewide issues and the statehouse when in session.
Responsibilities
- Report, shoot, and edit news stories daily.
- Enterprise story ideas and develop contacts.
- Create and publish content across television, digital, social media, streaming, and emerging platforms.
- Provide content for both KATU and KVAL/KMTR (travel to KVAL/KMTR only when story requires it).
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years reporting experience.
- Experience with live shots.
- Must live in Salem, OR and be willing to travel to Portland, OR for staff meetings or special coverage.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Skills
- Sharp news judgment.
- Ability to tell an NPPA-style story.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Experience with Live-U is a plus.
- Experience with AVID editing is a plus.
