About the role

The Multilingual Teacher at St. Paul Primary Academy (Grades PreK-1) is a key member of the school team dedicated to closing the opportunity gap. This role focuses on supporting students' English language growth using the ACCESS assessment, providing structured and loving instruction, and working collaboratively with all school team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provides targeted instruction to students, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Collects, analyzes, and uses data to provide differentiated instruction to scholars in small groups and individually.
  • Maintains a safe and predictable classroom environment with high expectations and rigor.
  • Regularly adopts and internalizes the curricula and instructional practices.
  • Sets and achieves ambitious goals with students, managing and sharing data regularly.
  • Identifies and analyzes strengths and growth areas in classroom/grade level/schoolwide data.
  • Attends all professional development offered by Prodeo Academy, participates in the coaching model, and demonstrates receptiveness to feedback.
  • Shares resources, plans, and ideas openly with teammates.
  • Responds to team and family communication within 24-48 business hours.
  • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Appropriate MN teaching license in (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience: Record of exemplary results with students, knowledge and application of assessment tools and data management, experience working in a K–8 urban public or charter school setting preferred, knowledge and application of WIDA English Language Development standards, knowledge and application of ACCESS administration.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move around the classroom for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs (e.g., instructional materials, student supports).
  • Ability to support students physically as needed, which may include kneeling, bending, or assisting with mobility.
  • Ability to engage in crisis intervention or student safety procedures when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
