Multifamily Construction Project Manager - North Jersey

About the role

A well-established General Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multifamily construction projects throughout North Jersey. The ideal candidate will have experience managing ground-up apartments, mixed-use developments, or other large residential projects from preconstruction through closeout. Our client is an established General Contractor specializing in multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial construction throughout New Jersey. The company offers a steady project pipeline, strong leadership, and opportunities for Project Managers to take full ownership of projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Manage ground-up multifamily projects from award through completion.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and procurement.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Lead owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings.
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field teams.
• Review drawings and specifications for scope and constructability.
• Track project costs, forecasts, and payment applications.
• Manage subcontractor contracts and scopes of work.
• Monitor project schedules and resolve potential delays.
• Oversee punch list, turnover, and final project closeout.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction Project Management experience.
• Ground-up multifamily construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with apartments, mixed-use, residential, or similar developments.
• General Contractor experience preferred.

Qualifications

Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred.

Skills

• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor management skills.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction management software.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
