Minimum Qualifications
- Basic understanding or interest with human relations/diversity issues
- Commitment to learning about human relation issues
- General computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
- Ability to keep a data base
- Ability to research and compile data via the internet
- Create stats and graphs from data (posters)
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Recipient of a work-study grant with the ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
- Willingness to learn as they work
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to be a leader among their peers
- Prior experience working with first generation college students and their families
- Experience facilitating human relations/diversity training around a multitude of social identities
- Experience serving historically marginalized communities in the United States
- Belief that all students can succeed
- Ability to connect with all students and challenge them to be their best
- Empathy, love, and compassion for those you serve
- Expectation of nothing but the best from those you serve
- Customer service experience (a plus)
Work Schedule
Hours vary from 8am to 10pm with occasional weekends.
