Summary of Essential Job Functions

• Maintains an environment that is safely prepared for patient care.
• Attends and performs phlebotomy services during codes.
• Safely and aseptically draws blood cultures and other phlebotomy specimens as directed.
• Performs 12-lead EKG and alerts licensed staff to patients in emergency or physically distressed situations.
• Transports patients, as necessary.
• Assists with moving, ambulating, and lifting patients.
• Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care, and observations.
• Maintains patient comfort and privacy.
• Maintains and prepares rooms between patients and procedures.
• Monitors stock and restocks supplies as needed.
• Communicates in an effective manner with all coworkers, patients, visitors, and physicians.
• Responds to patient and visitor questions and needs immediately and appropriately.
• Maintains patient comfort and privacy.

BASIC SKILLS

• Basic computer skills

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS Certification within 30 days

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
• Additional languages a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs alone.
• May be required to assist with patients or equipment up to 500 lbs.
• Ability to walk or stand for up to 75% of the time.
• Ability to push, pull, lift, bend, kneel, twist and reach above shoulder level.
