Multi Skilled Technician Float- FT Days

About the role

Department: Ultimate Float Team. The Multi Skilled Technician is an experienced healthcare worker who provides both patient care and administrative support and may float to all Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS) hospital campuses.

Requirements

• One of the following:
  • Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment.
  • Nursing students eligible for the CNA exam must:
    • Be currently enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN).
    • Have completed the first semester of clinical for an ASN/BSN degree or the first trimester for an LPN.
    • Not be currently licensed in the U.S. as an RN or LPN.
  • Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board‑approved program and obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. • Employees hired without the above licensure and/or with years of experience only prior to 11/11/19 are grandfathered in and may obtain the stipulated licensure.
• Successful completion of a Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment is required.
• Mandatory Education: High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate.
• Required License and Certs: Basic Life Support (BLS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to assess, interact, communicate, and care for the specific patient population served by the department.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
