As a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager, you will lead the implementation of our Global WHS Program, directly impacting associate wellbeing and driving operational excellence. This role combines hands-on safety management with strategic thinking to protect our most valuable asset—our people. You will bridge safety requirements and operational success, requiring both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.

Working closely with Operations leadership, you will drive safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, analyze safety data, and implement practical solutions that protect associates while supporting productivity. Your ability to build relationships and influence positive change will shape our safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Transform safety culture through leadership and innovative solutions, driving continuous improvement initiatives that set new benchmarks in workplace safety.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to drive preventive safety measures that protect associates while enhancing operational excellence.
  • Develop leadership plans, communicate expectations, and drive initiatives to create a safe work environment.
  • Measure performance against WHS policies, analyze metrics, and conduct site audits to address non-compliance issues.
  • Build partnerships with Operations leadership to integrate safety into every aspect of the business.
  • Use compelling data analysis and risk insights to influence positive change and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.
  • Manage the first aid program and emergency response capabilities, ensuring immediate care is always available.
  • Analyze incident trends to target improvements where they matter most.
  • Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to travel 50-70% of the time and work various shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Work in an environment where the noise level varies and is subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments).
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs).
  • Obtain adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 3 weeks of start date (if not already certified).

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a distribution center, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Master’s degree or above.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
  • Experience leading the development of department strategy.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing operations environment.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort collaborating with site leaders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics.
  • Ability to manage multiple sites remotely.

Pay

  • USA, CO, Sterling: $63,000.00 - $94,600.00 USD annually
  • USA, KS, Garden City: $56,700.00 - $85,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, MO, Brookfield: $63,000.00 - $94,600.00 USD annually
  • USA, MO, Maryville: $63,000.00 - $94,600.00 USD annually
  • USA, NE, North Platte: $63,000.00 - $94,600.00 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
