About the Role

The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to one of several departments within the store—including Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, or Janitorial. Responsibilities include promoting sales, assisting customers, maintaining clean and safe work areas, receiving and inspecting products, stocking and rotating merchandise, and performing department-specific tasks.

Responsibilities

• Center Store/Front End: Operate check-stands, memorize PLU codes, order and stock products, merchandise items, and perform POS and inventory activities.
• Produce: Receive, inspect, and log products; trim, wash, and wrap produce; stock and rotate merchandise; maintain floral areas; and keep department equipment clean.
• Meat/Seafood: Receive and inspect products; weigh, wrap, and label items; stock and rotate merchandise; assist customers at the seafood counter; take special orders; and operate slicers or wrappers.
• Bakery/Deli: Receive and inspect products; prepare, weigh, and package items; stock and rotate baked goods and deli products; take special orders; and operate ovens, proofers, slicers, or mixers.
• Janitorial: Maintain store cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, break rooms, offices, and equipment; empty trash; and operate janitorial equipment.
• All Departments:
  • Sweep and mop sales floors, back rooms, and refrigerated areas.
  • Operate forklifts or balers if authorized and certified.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma (or G.E.D.) or equivalent job experience.
• Six months of related experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work with urgency, self-motivation, and flexibility.
• Available to work varied retail hours.
• Physical ability to stand frequently and lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

Pay

Hiring pay range: $16.90 - $27.00 per hour.
