The Save Mart Companies is currently recruiting for the position of Multi-Purpose Clerk - Bakery (Cake Decorator) at 1504 Howard Rd., Madera, CA 93637. This role involves working in various departments including Center Store, Produce, Meat/Seafood, Bakery/Deli, and Janitorial.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Promote sales within assigned department
• Answer customer questions and respond to requests for products
• Accurately place special orders
• Practice safe food handling procedures
• Maintain a clean work area
• Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment and quality
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product to maintain freshness and department appeal
• Take special orders for items such as cakes and party trays
• Operate equipment such as ovens, proofers, slicers, and mixers
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store
• Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas
• May operate forklift and baler if authorized and certified
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and self-motivation
• Proactive, initiative, enthusiastic, and flexible on the job

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) or equivalent
• Six months of related experience

Physical Requirements

• Standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis
• Lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance

Hiring Pay Range

$17.15 - 26.70
