About the Role

The Multi‑Modality Imaging Technologist (PRN) at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital performs invasive and non‑invasive imaging procedures across multiple modalities, utilizes sterile techniques when needed, operates complex imaging equipment, and assists physicians. The position functions with minimal supervision to produce superior quality imaging studies and must routinely work in at least two qualifying modalities as directed by department leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform invasive and non‑invasive imaging procedures on a variety of patients.
• Utilize sterile techniques when required.
• Operate complex imaging equipment and assist physicians as necessary.
• Work independently to produce high‑quality imaging studies.
• Maintain proficiency in a minimum of two qualifying modalities, including:
  • Diagnostic radiology
  • CT
  • MRI
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Ultrasound
  • Mammography
  • Bone Densitometry

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited JCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology) program.
• Licensure & Certification:
  • ARRT registration.
  • Post‑primary certification in at least one additional qualifying discipline, or obtain certification within the specified timeframes:
    • CT – 6‑9 months
    • Mammography – 12 months
    • MRI – 12‑18 months
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Completion of CEU requirements for re‑certification.
• Experience:
  • Required: Previous experience in a multi‑disciplined radiology department.
  • Preferred: Two years of experience in an advanced imaging discipline.
