Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.
  • Valid State of Ohio Radiological License required.
  • CT / MRI registry preferred.
  • 2 or more years in imaging preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Able to perform professional duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT procedures of a technical level consistent with optimal image quality.
  • Performs a variety of technical and non-technical tasks and direct patient care activities requiring independent judgment and initiative.

  • Meets population-specific and all other competencies according to department requirements.
  • Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures, and plans to prevent workplace injury, violence, or adverse outcomes.
  • Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care (Relationship-based Care).
  • Provides patient care, ensures patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.
  • Enters online charges in the Radiology Information System (RIS) with a high level of accuracy.
  • Performs a variety of CT / MRI procedures both professional and non-clinical, consistent with optimal image quality.
  • Performs diagnostic x-ray exams with consistent and optimal image quality.
  • Performs a variety of exams and is experienced in at least one modality with minor experience in another or willing to be trained based on licensure.
  • Assists with Medical staff duties to maintain workflow through the departments.
  • May be designated as Acting Supervisor or Take-Charge Supervisor in the absence of the Diagnostic Imaging Lead.
  • Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity by reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.
  • Participates in and coordinates safety hazard identification and safety management practices.
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Participates in and fosters performance improvement activities both intradepartmental and interdepartmental.
  • Fulfills on-call coverage requirements and participates in weekend and holiday rotations.
  • Assists in maintaining supplies.
  • Accepts other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Relationships

Reports to: Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor. Does not supervise others.
