About the role

The Multi-Line Liability Claim Representative I position is responsible for investigating and adjusting claims involving damage to commercial property, inland marine equipment, and automobiles. This role may serve as an advanced training position for future promotions to Multi-Line Liability Claim Rep II or more senior claim positions.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and adjust multi-line liability claims in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Evaluate claims involving damage to commercial property, inland marine equipment, and automobiles.
  • Review and verify medical, legal, and miscellaneous invoices for reasonableness and relevance to ongoing claims.
  • Negotiate disputed bills and resolve discrepancies between invoices and claims.
  • Authorize and make payments of multi-line liability claims using a claim payment program.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys, adhering to client authorization.
  • Select and supervise defense attorneys as needed.
  • Assess and monitor subrogation claims for resolution.
  • Prepare detailed reports on claims, payments, and reserves.
  • Maintain and monitor files, as required by excess insurers.
  • Comply with service commitments and deliver quality claim service to clients.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a desk adjuster for commercial property, inland marine, and auto claims is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and flexibility.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Discretion and confidentiality required.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance within client service hours.
  • Responsive to internal and external client needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
