About the Role

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Software Lead/Architect who is passionate about software development and working with cutting-edge technology. The selected candidate will join a cross-functional team, providing hands-on technical support to develop and demonstrate solutions addressing some of the United States' most critical challenges in Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems. You will help create systems that sense, control, exploit, and disseminate actionable information to support warfighter missions.

This role offers significant opportunities for career growth in developing scientific and mathematical software applications and algorithms. Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including designing, developing, debugging, testing, configuring, and deploying complex, real-time software solutions into simulation and live flight exercises.
  • Interact directly with current and potential customers to understand their requirements and guide development efforts to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders using strong communication skills.
  • Take on team leadership and mentoring roles.

Requirements

  • Must currently hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Strong software architecture, design, and development experience using Java, C++, and/or C#.
  • Software development, coding, and debugging experience across the entire development lifecycle.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Experience with Agile development and issue tracking systems, such as JIRA.
  • Experience with software build tools, such as Ant, Maven, or Gradle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-domain, orchestration, and effects development experience.
  • Experience developing mission planning, resource scheduling, or sensor tasking applications.
  • Experience with distributed systems, military systems, or simulations.
  • Experience developing full-stack applications (data fabric, backend, and user interface).
  • Experience leading and collaborating with external teams.
  • Architecture experience.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $149,603 - $254,317. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
