About This Role

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization supporting 200 staff across 30 Early Childhood and Out of School Time programs. We are seeking caring and experienced early education teachers in Laconia, NH. Our early learning centers provide a safe and inviting environment for young children's social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development. What You'll Do

  • Prepare Youth for Success
  • Facilitate achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
  • Respond sensitively to children's interests, requests, and needs
  • Engage in positive child guidance strategies
  • Plan and outline curriculum to meet individual needs
  • Maintain program goals for health and safety
  • Evaluate Club programs continuously
  • Document child observations
  • Account for members in assigned groups
  • Implement NAEYC standards and GSQ (when applicable)
  • Follow BGCCNNH and CCLU rules and policies regarding safety, compliance, and best practices
  • Dispense medications and administer first aid
  • Oversee classroom cleanliness and maintenance
  • Support volunteer and practicum student supervision
  • Lead planning meetings and promote Club visibility
  • Conduct daily schedule postings and event announcements

Requirements

  • Associate teacher qualification (High school diploma and 9 credits in child development and/or early childhood education, from a regionally accredited college or university)
  • Age 18 or older with at least 1,500 hours in a school-age licensed program
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods, principles, and techniques
  • Experience in curriculum development and application
  • Ability to form relationships with children and manage behavior
  • Organizational and supervisory skills
  • Willingness to maintain Club dress code and confidentiality
  • Willingness to drive Club van/short bus occasionally
  • Ability to assist in cleaning and organizing the Club
