Multi-Asset Portfolio Analytics Analyst
About the role
As a Multi-Asset Portfolio Analytics Analyst, you will drive operational excellence by executing and enabling core workflows while identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements and analytical/technological enhancements. Reporting directly to the Director, Multi-Asset Portfolio Strategist, this role serves as a critical operational and analytical backbone—ensuring accurate, timely delivery of portfolio data, analytics, and insights that enable the Multi-Asset Portfolio Team (MAPT) to deliver RBC Portfolio Blueprint.
This position offers an opportunity to apply systems thinking to enhance portfolio operations holistically while building expertise in technical analytics, quantitative modeling, and process design. You will deepen your knowledge of capital markets, investing principles, and portfolio management as part of the Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG). PAG’s mandate is to enable RBC Wealth Management’s financial advisors to consistently deliver investment advice and solutions with the highest level of competency and confidence. Within PAG, the Multi-Asset Portfolio Team (MAPT) is responsible for the development, maintenance, and promotion of RBC Portfolio Blueprint, RBC Wealth Management’s multi-asset portfolio framework for coordinated investment advice and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Multi-Asset Portfolio Team (MAPT) with broad general support of the suite of discretionary multi-asset portfolios.
- Own the creation and maintenance of detailed portfolio data within portfolio analytics software.
- Recommend and execute improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of data gathering, analysis, operating, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with the Multi-Asset Portfolio Risk Analyst to ensure consistent and timely distribution of accurate investment committee reports.
- Collaborate with U.S. Investment Committee (USIC) members to manage a suite of discretionary portfolios.
- Aid in the coordination of and participate in USIC and other investment committee meetings.
- Partner with investment committee colleagues to create quantitative, data-driven models that aid in identifying market opportunities.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data as part of monitoring and evaluating investment decisions.
- Aid in the trading workflow process to ensure effective communication of duties and smooth execution.
- Participate in activities to ensure the successful development, management, and promotion of RBC Wealth Management’s Strategic Asset Allocation framework.
- Partner with the Multi-Asset Portfolio Investment Analyst on the annual capital market assumptions and strategic asset allocation refresh, including using analytical and technical skills to assist in the development and maintenance of databases and quantitative models.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Statistics, or Math.
- 1-5 years of financial industry experience.
- Basic knowledge of investment performance and risk analysis, particularly as it relates to multi-asset portfolio management.
- Knowledge of or desire to learn Python.
- Ability to work with databases and querying languages such as SQL.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling.
- Knowledge of AI tools and proactive in exploring and implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance productivity and workflow.
- Curiosity for learning new software applications; this role seeks a candidate eager to advance their technical capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with key analytical platforms or similar financial software—FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct.
- Experience in investment management concepts such as risk measurement and reporting, performance attribution, asset allocation, and portfolio construction.
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment.

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $70,000–$130,000, depending on experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs.
