MUHA-2nd Shift Asst. Electric Shop Supervisor

Job Responsibilities

• Aid the Electrical Supervisor in maintaining the orderly operation of the MUSC Enterprise, University and MUHA Electrical Shop during regular activities.
• Ensure coverage across all shifts, 24/7, by assigning daily maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks to staff.
• Monitor employee work orders and logs, ensuring their completion and overseeing assigned work and preventive maintenance.
• Manage and oversee utility outages and contracted work in the MUSC Enterprise, University Hospital, and grounds.
• Closely supervise contractors and vendors for safety and code compliance during construction or repair phases, reporting any issues to the Supervisor.
• Maintain electrical plans or prints to effectively manage outages and repair projects.
• Be available for immediate response to after-hours electrical emergencies, assessing situations and contacting the Supervisor as necessary.
• Create electrical cost estimates and perform limited project management.
• Maintain professional growth and development through seminars and workshops, staying updated on industry trends.
• Preserve an orderly and safe work environment by maintaining an organized shop, electrical rooms, and work areas.
• Safely operate necessary machinery, vehicles, and tools to complete assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
