About the role
A Medical Technologist performs a variety of complex procedures on patient samples in a timely manner, while maintaining both accuracy and precision. The information obtained from these procedures will be used to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases in a clinical setting.
A Medical Lab Technician performs a variety of complex procedures on patient samples in a timely manner, while maintaining both accuracy and precision. The information obtained from these procedures will be used to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases in a clinical setting.
Qualifications
- Certification as a MT or MLS by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Certification Agency (NCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or similar organizations is recommended but not required. If certified, proof of recertification should include member ID and expiration date.
- An associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology. Certification as an MLT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Certification Agency (NCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or similar organization is recommended but not required. If certified, proof of recertification should include member ID and expiration date.
- Candidates will also be considered who have been trained and worked in a clinical laboratory setting, while serving in the United States military as a medical laboratory specialist.
