About the role
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to support schools for the Severely Disabled.
Responsibilities
- Cook up a plan for health screenings.
- Design and implement special health care procedures.
- Train on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection control, administering medication, CPR, and other in-services as needed.
- Give out medications and other health care procedures according to doctor's orders.
- Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to share on the student's physical and health needs when asked.
- Take charge in creating and putting into action a comprehensive school health plan.
- Accurately fill out required reports on or before set deadlines.
- Collaborate with the building administrator to keep an orderly, attractive, safe, and clean environment.
- Maintain CPR training instructor certification and basic CPR certification.
- Preserve confidentiality of parent, student, and staff personally identifiable information.
Requirements
- Be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri.
- Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Qualifications
- A professional license is required under state law.
Skills
- Proficiency in pediatric care and/or working with individuals with disabilities.

Pay
The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed the salary range listed above.
