MSAD 33: Girls M.S. Softball Assistant Coach

Duties And Responsibilities

• Has a thorough knowledge of all athletic policies and implements them.
• Understands and enforces existing system, state, and league regulations.
• Aware of all public, staff, and departmental meetings requiring attendance.
• Serves as a mentor to each athlete to promote the development and demonstration of Valley Unified Core Values.
• Attends all practices, games, and travel with participants to provide assistance, guidance, and safeguards.
• Trains athletes in training rules and unique regulations of the sport.
• Initiates programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention, and emergencies.
• Completes paperwork on all disabling athletic injuries and submits within 24 hours.
• Directs student managers, assistants, and statisticians.
• Determines discipline and outlines procedures for due process when necessary.
• Contracts parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible.
• Accounts for all equipment and collects costs for any lost or unreturned equipment.
• Organizes preseason meetings for parents, coaches, players, and guests.
• Promotes the sport within and outside the school through various means.

Qualifications

• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.
• Continues to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• Serves as an appropriate role model for student athletes.
