Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement)
- 1 Reference Letter (does not apply to current CCPS staff)
- Current Florida Educator Certification or Athletic Coaching Certification is required (coaches who hold current teaching certification do not need to obtain athletic coaching certification)
- Basic Life Support Program certification (First Aid, CPR and AED)

The Florida Department of Education issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates: 3-Year Temporary Certificate (issued only to give a coach the opportunity to complete the requirements for the 5-Year Certificate; it is NOT renewable) and 5-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate. Athletic Coaching Certification is needed for coaches who are paid a supplement from the school District but do not hold a Temporary or Professional Educator Certificate, and for volunteer coaches who are employees of Collier County Public Schools but do not hold a Temporary or Professional Educator's Certification.
