About the role
Create, modify, and implement the master production schedule to meet customer demand while minimizing inventory.
Responsibilities
- Review and act upon MRP exception messages according to their priority and impact.
- Interact with other planner/schedulers and customer service on reschedules or customer order expedites.
- Review Available To Promise outputs to improve ship dates.
- Proactively find scheduling and capacity gaps to prioritize work on the shop floor.
- Identify opportunities to improve the scheduling process and inform supervisor.
- Coordinate with Production Inventory Control regarding new production introduction.
- Support the dual mandate of high service levels and high inventory turnover.
- Facilitate the planning portion of continuous improvement and lean projects.
- Stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.
- Accomplish/perform work assignments from beginning to end with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- APICS Certification or affiliation a major plus.
- Three to five years minimum of planning experience.
- Familiarity with a vertically integrated manufacturing operation.

- Oracle ERP with Advanced Supply Chain Planning module a plus.
