MRO Assistant Buyer, 8AM - 4PM

About the role
The MRO Assistant Buyer supports the MRO Buyer by executing daily procurement activities, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring timely delivery of MRO supplies. This role focuses on the tactical execution of purchasing tasks, invoice processing, and supporting inventory health.
Responsibilities
- Safety: Maintain strict adherence to site safety protocols in all purchasing and inventory activities.
- Purchasing Support: Process purchase orders and assist in tracking deliveries to ensure timely receipt of MRO supplies. Assist with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
- Invoice Reconciliation: Review invoices against purchase orders and receipts to resolve routine match exceptions and ensure accurate billing.
- Inventory Accuracy: Conduct physical inventory cycle counts, monitor stock levels, and flag potential stockouts to the MRO Buyer.
- Inventory Control: Monitor the MRO material sign out process and use continuous improvement processes to drive sustainable changes.
- Spare Parts Management: Maintain cleanliness and organization of spare parts storage areas to ensure efficient access and inventory accuracy.
- Vendor Coordination: Assist with vendor communications regarding shipping status, delivery scheduling, and basic product inquiries.
- Administrative Tasks: Generate inventory usage reports, maintain vendor contact lists, and document standard MRO processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Collect data to support continuous improvement projects and routine cost-saving initiatives. Identify and support improvement opportunities related to MRO processes and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2-3 years experience in a purchasing, administrative, or inventory control role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical components for industrial equipment is desired.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Google Applications (Sheets, Gmail, Docs, etc.).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize accordingly.
- Demonstrated use of ERP/MRP systems.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

Pay
The hourly hiring rate for this role is $29.11/hr.
Schedule
This position follows an 8AM - 4PM shift.
Reporting to: Technical/Engineering Manager (daily operational guidance provided by MRO Buyer).
