Job Description
Work Hours, Shift Weekend Worker Program
Work 24 hours (2 x 12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday) and get paid for 36 hours
Start/End Time is Flexible
Workdays: Saturday/Sunday
Responsibilities
- Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks
- Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low
- Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam
- Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging
- Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions

- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of MRI procedures
- Knowledge of MRI scanners

- Basic IV skills
- Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to work flexibly in variable shifts, occasionally including weekends or holidays
- Ability to understand medical terminology
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- General computer skills and PACS
- General physics and anatomy
- Experience/knowledge of computers/networking
- Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures
- Maintain responsibility for all Hospital continuing and annual education
- Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures
- Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff
- Ability to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to deal efficiently, ethically, and courteously with all patients and hospital personnel
- Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical personnel that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the organization
Qualifications
- Associate [Preferred]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Field Of Study: N/A
- Work Experience: 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]
