Job Description

Work Hours, Shift Weekend Worker Program
Work 24 hours (2 x 12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday) and get paid for 36 hours
Start/End Time is Flexible
Workdays: Saturday/Sunday

Responsibilities

  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks
  • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low
  • Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam
  • Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging
  • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds

  • Ability to work flexibly in variable shifts, occasionally including weekends or holidays
  • Ability to understand medical terminology
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • General computer skills and PACS
  • General physics and anatomy
  • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Maintain responsibility for all Hospital continuing and annual education
  • Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures
  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff
  • Ability to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to deal efficiently, ethically, and courteously with all patients and hospital personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical personnel that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the organization

Qualifications

  • Associate [Preferred]
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
  • Field Of Study: N/A
  • Work Experience: 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred]
