MRI Technologist - Weekend Incentive Program - Days

About the role

The practice of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is performed by radiologic technologists responsible for the use of radio frequencies (RF’s) within a magnetic field on humans of all ages (newborn to geriatric) for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes.

Responsibilities

• Collects pertinent data about the patient, procedure, equipment, and work environment.
• Analyzes information obtained during the assessment phase and develops an action plan for completing the procedure.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge related to the use of protocols, procedures, and equipment.
• Performs MRI exams safely and accurately with reliable information regarding the performance of equipment, materials, and processes.
• Adjusts protocols and procedures based on safe and effective practices.
• Evaluates an exam or procedure that meets all quality assurance standards.
• Provides clear and precise documentation essential for continuity of care, accuracy of care, and quality assurance.
• Promotes a positive and collaborative practice atmosphere with other members of the health care team.
• Participates in professional organizations and scholarly activities such as research, scientific investigation, presentation, and publication to advance the profession.

Requirements

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) within the first 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers).

Qualifications

Novice-level experience. Competent in routine studies. Working knowledge of technical standards, the scope of practice, department and health system policies, safety, and service standards. Working knowledge of imaging equipment, image processing software, instrumentation, and ancillary patient care equipment.

Schedule

Hours: Sat & Sun 7AM - 7:30PM. Variable weekday 7AM - 7:30PM hours. 32 hours weekly (3x12s).
