About the Role
As an MRI Technologist at TriHealth, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging using advanced MRI techniques and established protocols. You’ll apply strong clinical judgment, technical skill, and patient-centered care while working closely with radiologists and a supportive imaging team to ensure accurate, safe, and efficient exams. This role involves maintaining equipment, guiding new staff, upholding safety and regulatory standards, and contributing to an environment where both patients and team members receive exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency through ongoing CBEs and knowledge of equipment and its operating procedures.
- Selects proper imaging protocols and parameters based on clinical history and follows departmental procedures.
- Demonstrates organizational and communication skills to promote the well-being of the department.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.
- Consistently produces and evaluates MRIs for diagnostic interpretation.
- Maintains accurate records through the completion of all paperwork.
- Provides patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after procedures.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations.
- Orients new staff, troubleshoots equipment, and assists in student education.
- Ensures patient and public safety, maintains proper use and care of equipment, and complies with infection prevention procedures.
- Meets continuing educational requirements established by the ACR and adheres to Practice Standards defined by the ASRT.
- MR registry is required within 2 years of employment within this modality.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Allied Health (Required).
- Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program (Required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required).
- ARRT - Radiographer certification (Required) or NMTCB certification (Required).
- ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) certification (Required).
- Proficiency in MRI Safety Protocols, Cross Sectional Anatomy, and Venipuncture.
Skills
- Identification of pathology and MR physics.
- Patient positioning and MR safety.
- 3-D reconstruction and contrast injections.
- IV access and implementation of new protocols.
