MRI Technologist PRN
Job Summary
Demonstrate the ability to obtain quality MRI images of patients. Complies with MRI safety guidelines for patients, staff and self. Operates MRI equipment safety including screening all patients for contraindications. Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations. Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identifies patients utilizing the proper protocols. Prepare MRI scanner and perform quality control tests. Assist the radiology nurse or radiologist in administering medication, contrast agents, and all types of care to the patient during MRI procedures. Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images. Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients. Completes and maintains educational requirements.
Qualifications
- EXPERIENCE: Required: Minimum of 1 year experience as MRI Technologist. Preferred: Multiple years’ experience as a certified staff MRI Technologist
- EDUCATION: Required: Graduate of accredited approved School of Radiologic Technology
- LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION: Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technology OR ARRT-MRI Technology (6-month grace period) OR American Registry of MRI Technology ARMRIT (6-month grace period)
- BLS for Healthcare Providers through AHA or CPR through American Red Cross (30-day grace period)
- PREFERRED: American Society of Radiologic Technology Virginia Society of Radiologic Technology
