Responsibilities
You would obtain high quality MRI's to assist the providers and patients in their decision-making and contribute to the care journey for our many patients.
- Operate high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce radiographic images of patients’ specific body parts;
- Operate a Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanner to obtain images used by physicians, determine appropriate imaging techniques, and operate console and peripheral hardware;
- Screen patients for MR safety, explain the MRI process and address patient concerns prior to performing scanning;
- Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety;
- Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately;
- Document imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary information in patients’ electronic medical records and Patient Archive Communication System (PACS);
- Maintain quality control measures in accordance with American College of Radiology guidelines;
- Follow quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics, and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician;
- Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
Requirements
- MRI Technologist Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT
- Knowledge of MRI and radiology safety procedures and protocols
- HIPAA and OSHA regulations/procedures
- Experience using computer systems and applications, including radiology software
- Communicating effectively with patients, physicians and other medical staff
This position operates in a clinical environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, and similar conditions are possible.

Schedule
May include nights and weekends (Saturday); schedule is based on manager discretion. This position may require travel to other clinic locations based on manager discretion.
