About the role
The MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Technologist operates imaging equipment and software, primarily MRI equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, maintaining high-quality imaging standards, serving as lead when leadership is unavailable, and assisting with new caregiver orientation and training. The position demands a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.
Schedule
- Full-Time: Thursday - Saturday (3 - 12-hour shifts)
- Nights: 6:30PM to 7:00AM
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI imaging equipment and software
- Ensure patient safety and maintain high-quality imaging standards
- Serve as lead when leadership is unavailable
- Assist with new caregiver orientation and training
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion of required clinical hours
- One (1) year of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor degree program
- State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice
- ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification
- BLS Basic Life Support
Preferred Qualifications
- MRSO (Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer) or MRSE (Magnetic Resonance Safety Expert) certification
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills
- Thorough understanding of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
