Role Overview The MRI Tech II performs advanced MRI procedures, demonstrating expertise beyond MRI Tech I. They adapt to evolving imaging techniques, ensure safety protocols—particularly regarding medical implants like pacemakers and electronic devices—and operate under supervision from radiology professionals. The position requires independent judgment, comprehensive knowledge of MRI physics, tissue effects, and safety enforcement. They provide compassionate care for patients with claustrophobia, offering support to ease discomfort. Qualifications & Skills Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program and ARRT MRI certification are essential. Preferred two years of MRI experience; advanced MRI certification and BLS certification are required for licensed staff. Knowledge of MRI safety, biological effects, and handling patients with implants is mandatory. All staff must pass safety screening, especially regarding electronic or magnetic implants. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced MRI scans, adapt to new imaging technologies, enforce safety standards, and assist patients with claustrophobia. Operate independently within the MRI department, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety.
