About the role
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the RIS/PACS system.
Ensure MRI equipment is functioning properly and report maintenance needs.
Follow infection control and MRI safety guidelines.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuing education programs.
Responsibilities
- Perform MRI scans according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Screen patients for MRI safety risks, including implants, devices, and contraindications.
- Explain procedures and provide patient education to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Administer contrast media as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Monitor patient condition during MRI procedures and respond to emergencies as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be ARRT registered in good standing.
- Experience with GE and Siemens magnets preferred.
- One or more years of MRI experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
