MRI Technologist - Full Time

About the role

Our meticulous, approachable, and team-oriented MRI Technologist performs daily imaging activities while creating positive connections with both team members and patients. The MRI Technologist ensures all Imaging standards, safety, and policies are upheld, aiming to demonstrate Patient Care Second to None! The role involves utilizing all Imaging equipment and is responsible for its cleanliness and proper use. The MRI Technologist is patient-facing, so top candidates are amiable, courteous, able to multitask, and work autonomously with precision.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images based on patient needs.
• Educates and explains procedures to patients to ensure safety and comfort during the examination.
• Operates and oversees magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
• Records, processes, and maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports as needed.
• Records thorough and accurate patient medical histories and notes as appropriate with policy and guidelines.
• Follows radiation safety procedures, processes, and protection devices to comply with governmental regulations and ensure patient and staff safety.
• Reviews and evaluates developed computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Follows directions and instructions of physicians or providers as it relates to patient care management.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested, including annual HIPAA and OSHA training. Maintains work area according to OSHA guidelines.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations/credentials to remain in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Renewal is required.
• Active Certified BLS Provider (Basic Life Support) or must receive from an accredited institution within 3 months (90 days) of hire date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One year of experience in Radiologic Imaging required.
• Knowledge of Siemens and Phillips Equipment.
• Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
• Associates Degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Requires successful completion of an ARRT-accredited program in Magnetic Resonance modality.
• Graduation from an advanced program of Magnetic Resonance can substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy.
