About the role
This job performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.
Responsibilities
- Performs management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.
- Plays a mentor role for new staff and uses technical expertise to improve staff performance.
- Assists in the management of human resources (performance management), staff/equipment schedule, payroll, and non-labor expenses and activities for the department.
- Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies.
- Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately for independent MRI imaging per established protocols.
- Aids in the management of human resources (performance management), staff/equipment schedule, payroll, and non-labor expenses and activities for the department.
- Implements MRI safety and patient safety standards and provides technical expertise for development of protocols.
- Implements and standardizes imaging protocols in coordination with radiation physics and division directors.
- Responsible for maintaining safe MRI operation through adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Assures completion of all required documentation for quality control and equipment maintenance, procedures, e.g. regulatory, billing, protocol and image distribution.
- Maintains ACR certification and registries (if applicable).
- Implements and educates staff on all imaging institute policies, procedures, guidelines, and quality initiatives for MRI modality.
- Performs duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Minimum Associate’s degree; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R)(MR), or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
- 3 years as an MRI Technologist.
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Qualifications
- Minimum Associate’s degree; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
