About the role
The MR Radiologic Technologist provides technical knowledge and coordinates the delivery of MRI services. Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position operates high-field-strength magnets and support systems with MRI safety as a priority. The role covers and floats to all UCSF MR sites (China Basin, Mission Bay, Mount Zion, Parnassus, Peninsula OP Center in Burlingame, CA).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care and manage acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data.
- Train new and existing staff on new MRI technologies.
- Maintain and operate MRI equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications, reporting all problems appropriately.
- Perform a variety of imaging studies, including:
- Neuro Studies
- MSK Studies
- Abdominal Imaging
- Pediatric Imaging
- Chest Imaging (Non-Cardiac)
Requirements
- ARRT-approved MRI Certification.
- BLS Certification.
- Venipuncture Certification.
- Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA-approved school.
- Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to rotate shifts, cover weekends and holidays, and float to other sites as needed.
