MRI Technologist

About the role

The MR Radiologic Technologist provides technical knowledge and coordinates the delivery of MRI services. Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position operates high-field-strength magnets and support systems with MRI safety as a priority. The role covers and floats to all UCSF MR sites (China Basin, Mission Bay, Mount Zion, Parnassus, Peninsula OP Center in Burlingame, CA).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care and manage acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data.
• Train new and existing staff on new MRI technologies.
• Maintain and operate MRI equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications, reporting all problems appropriately.
• Perform a variety of imaging studies, including:
  • Neuro Studies
  • MSK Studies
  • Abdominal Imaging
  • Pediatric Imaging
  • Chest Imaging (Non-Cardiac)

Requirements

• ARRT-approved MRI Certification.
• BLS Certification.
• Venipuncture Certification.
• Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA-approved school.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to rotate shifts, cover weekends and holidays, and float to other sites as needed.
