MRI Technologist

About the role

Shields Health Care Group’s MRI Technologists support the integrity of the organization with their commitment to excellence. The MRI technologist will provide a professional, caring atmosphere to all customer groups while maintaining a fast‑paced, multi‑tasked clinical environment. This position is based out of the UMass Health Alliance Leominster campus.

Responsibilities

• Follow all proper policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. These policies, procedures and protocols can be issued by Shields or the partnering hospital group for the location you are assigned to.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Perform scan in accordance to centre’s protocol.
• Administer intravenous contrast.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films/CD when appropriate.
• Forward data and or films/CD to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re‑supply equipment and rooms as needed.
• Adhere to all necessary training/licenses based on the credentialing policy.

Requirements

• Prior MRI scanning experience.
• MRI/ARRT/CPR certifications (ARMRIT certification accepted at some locations).
• Ability to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
• Ability to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Some inpatient locations may require participation in a call schedule/rotation.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty‑five pounds (with or without accommodation).
• Fantastic interpersonal skills.

Pay

Pay range for this position is $40‑$60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Schedule

Monday 2p‑10:30p, Wednesday 12p‑10:30p, Friday 12p‑10:30p, plus one weekend per month 2p‑10:30p.
