About the Role

Under the general supervision of the Lead MRI Technologist and according to established policies and procedures, this individual will perform and ensure appropriate quality control, provide requested films of high diagnostic quality based on the specifics of each case, and interact effectively and professionally with patients, referring physicians/their staff, and fellow employees while maintaining optimal patient flow and throughput.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all types of MR-related equipment, properly position patients, and handle patient films and files.
  • Determine the means of providing requested studies based on the specifics of each case.
  • Interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress, referring physicians and staff, radiologists, fellow employees, supplier and service representatives, and others encountered during the workday.
  • Perform exams as outlined by governing bodies and RIMI protocol.
  • Compile and interpret data as necessary.
  • Provide proper patient care.

Requirements

  • ARRT registered with MR Certification.
  • IV experience required.
  • Physical dexterity and strength to operate equipment and position patients.
  • Conceptual, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in Zone 3 and Zone 4 with exposure to high magnetic fields, acoustic noise, and occasional RF exposure. Cannot have any physical condition aggravated by these factors.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/Portuguese) preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

  • Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day.
  • May lift/position patients and supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move patients from scanner tables and transport patients in wheelchairs and/or stretchers.
  • Ability to crouch, reach, and lift for proper manipulation, positioning, and placement of ancillary equipment.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is currently offered for this role.

Pay

Competitive pay, prorated based on core hours.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM at the Wakefield, RI clinical site.
