About the role
The MRI Technologist will operate the magnetic resonance scanner and perform a variety of complex anatomical imaging procedures. The MRI technologist will obtain quality images for diagnostic interpretation by the physician and adjust scanning protocols based on the anatomy/pathology presented during scanning. This individual will demonstrate an advanced functional knowledge of MRI/MRA and related clinical indicators for procedures to be performed. The MRI technologist will perform and direct exams to the appropriate conclusion in the absence of a physician by utilizing advanced skills in cross sectional anatomy. He/she must be self-motivated, use independent judgement and be able to work with a minimum supervision.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Completion of approved MRI program
- Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology preferred
Experience
- One to two years MRI Technologist experience is preferred
License/Certification
- Registry by ARRT and advanced registry in MRI within 1 year of hire
- Basic Life Support Certification
Skills
- Advanced analytical skills necessary to acquire and effectively utilize the knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance angiography and methods to aide the diagnosis of disease
- Advanced understanding of cross sectional anatomy in order to obtain the highest quality images possible
