MRI Technologist

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe MRI environment and providing imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages. Duties include explaining and communicating thoroughly with patients and families, upholding safety standards, following protocols, and prioritizing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe MRI environment
• Provide imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages
• Explain and communicate thoroughly with patients and families
• Uphold safety standards
• Follow established protocols, practices, and guidelines
• Prioritize customer and patient satisfaction
• Utilize AIDET principles
• Work with other departments, modalities, and personnel
• Ensure proper patient identification, correct exam, and improve patient communication and engagement
• Practice good stewardship with supplies, equipment, and department resources
• Understand clinical history, supply, and exam charges
• Follow billing practices
• Correlate clinical history with the exam(s) being performed
• Participate in MRI Quality Control (QC) and complete appropriate documentation
• Maintain accreditation
• Control and maintain inventory and supplies
• Instruct and supervise student technologists and new employees
• Facilitate and coordinate services for assigned area of expertise
• Serve as a contact person for radiologist, physician’s offices, and other departments within the DCH System
• Monitor the functions of the area of expertise and/or imaging department needs
• Communicate problems and supply needs as required
• Perform duties necessary to maintain accreditation
