About the Role
An MRI Technologist responsible for operating MRI equipment, performing diagnostic and therapeutic MRI procedures, and assisting physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate MRI scans and select appropriate techniques based on patient needs.
- Administer intravenous contrast as required.
- Maintain MRI equipment and ensure safety policies are followed.
- Prepare images for physician interpretation.
- Assess patient conditions and document procedures accurately.
- Follow MRI safety policies and maintain sterile techniques.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- ARRT registration and MRI certification (or certification within six months of hire).
- CT license.
- CPR certification (if required).
- Continuing education credits.
- Desirable: relevant experience, associate degree, knowledge of anatomy, and quality assurance.
Abilities
- Operate MRI systems and manage patient flow.
- Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- React calmly and effectively in emergencies.
- Perform basic life support when needed.
Work Conditions
- May include rotating on-call, night, weekend, or holiday shifts.
- Physical activity involved in patient positioning and equipment handling.
- Adherence to OSHA standards and maintenance of a safe work environment.
