MRI Technologist

BJC HealthCare is hiring a Full-time MRI Technologist at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Illinois. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants.

About the Role

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has served residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding five-county area. The hospital provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery, medical imaging, heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, and ambulance services.

Twin Rivers MRI, located within Alton Memorial Hospital, features advanced technology, including one of only three 3.0 Tesla MRI units in the St. Louis and Illinois metro region.

Schedule

• Full-time (Days)
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week: Monday, Thursday, Friday (6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
• Call rotation required: every 5th weekend (9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.)

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in advanced modalities such as MRI, CT, Interventional, Mammography, Bone Density, or Cardiac Catheterization for diagnosis and treatment.
• Prepares patients and equipment for procedures.
• Performs studies independently, including on-call situations, portable exams, and at other sites as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree or trade school equivalent.
• No prior experience required.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • IEMA (Illinois only, excluding MRI)
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T. (R)) or registration in an advanced modality (CT, MR, M, BD, CI, VI, RCIS, RCES).
  • Willingness to cross-train in MRI if not already MRI-registered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Less than 2 years of experience.
• Certifications:
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Intravenous Therapy
