About the role
We are looking for an MRI Technologist to perform MRI exams in accordance with exam procedures and protocols, using independent judgment to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and exceptional patient care. The technologist will assist Radiologists with special procedures such as arthrograms, review all necessary documentation, and handle patient setup, equipment operation, and related clinical and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Performs MRI procedures as ordered, achieving a high level of quality and timeliness.
- Escorts patients to the treatment room and assists with dressings as necessary.
- Completes all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of MRI services.
- Explains MRI procedures to address patient concerns and questions.
- Administers I.V. contrast.
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
- Completes related paperwork and obtains interpretation by radiologist.
- Conducts quality control measures to monitor machine performance and reports malfunctions or need for adjustments to the site manager.
- Focuses on customer service and uses courtesy and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors to maintain a professional atmosphere.
Requirements
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ARRT (R) (MR) certification and Connecticut licensure required.
- Two years of clinical experience in all MRI procedure types.
- Siemens, GE experience preferred.
