MRI Technologist 8D
About the role
The MRI Technologist interprets physician’s orders and performs diagnostic radiography and MRI scans, demonstrating expertise in use of equipment. Prepares equipment, correctly positions patients, and applies proper techniques for procedures. Works with department administration to obtain MRI services accreditation with the American College of Radiology (ACR) and State License as required.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
- Prepares reports and documentation as required or directed.
- Transports patients to MRI area and assists during MRI process.
- Maintains equipment and work areas.
- Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties in support of department activities.
Requirements
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) as an MR Technologist (RTMR).
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Six months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience.
- At least one year of experience as a credentialed MRI Technologist.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluent in the English language.
