About the role
MRI Technologists, also known as Rad Techs or MRI Techs, assist the Radiologist with the process of imaging and diagnosing illness. MRI Technologist job descriptions include tasks such as: capturing the image, obtaining the best quality image, and ensuring the patients are comfort and safe.
Responsibilities

- Patient communication and preparation including removal of garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure and explaining how the process works
- Positioning patients properly to obtain x-rays, CT scans, or MR scans
- Sets the equipment to obtain the best density, detail, and contrast of the area being imaged
- Applying their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process in order to help the physician diagnose problems
- Closely following physician instructions, preparing radiography equipment, positioning patients, and obtaining optimal images for diagnosis
- Communicating calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients including the elderly, ailing, and handicapped
Requirements
- Must possess a degree in radiologic technology from an accredited college or university and must pass the ARRT certification exam or the ARMRIT (ARRT preferred- (ARRT RT(R)) or MRI (ARRT(MR)).
- Required to be licensed by the state of Arkansas.
- Required to have BLS Certification.
- Must have knowledge of MRI Procedures and have passed MRI safety training.
- Xray or CT experience a plus.
- Previous clinical experience in Radiology, patient care, or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- IV competency or certification required.
- Able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Able to lift and assist in moving patients safely.
